The Saxonburg 185th Celebration Banner with John Roebling

Celebrating Two Milestones

2017 marks the 185th anniversary of the founding of Saxonburg by German immigrant, Civil Engineer, and inventor John A. Roebling.  Additionally, 175 years ago Mr. Roebling received a patent on his fabrication process for the production of steel wire rope; an important step towards the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge in 1870-1883, the design of which is among Roebling's greatest achievements.

The town John Roebling founded will be celebrating these two milestones this Summer.  Several events are scheduled on Saturday, July 15:

  • 10:30 AM - Celebration Parade - Main Street
  • 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM - Mingle on Main Street Party
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM - Reception at Saxonburg Museum (Purchase Tickets)
  • 6:00 PM - Celebration DInner at Cooper Hall (Purchase Tickets)
